Religious and nonreligious ceremonies coexist harmoniously, and the official acts take place within the general uproar. What with the mystique that surrounds the bullfighting, wine and good food, this is a festival for the people; and it is impossible to be a mere spectator. Any visitor will feel welcomed and very much at home.

Although the San Fermin festival has evolved over the centuries, it has always been a street fiesta. The bulls are vital, as they run through the streets in the morning and fight in the bullring in the afternoon. There is also a small bull run in the evenings, when the bulls run up from a yard in Gas to the enclosure in Santo Domingo Street. From here, the following morning, the bulls begin their dangerous and special run. However, you don’t have to go to these aforementioned events, or to the other traditional events in order to enjoy the San Fermin festivities. You can just immerse yourself in the joyful party atmosphere; it is one big festival in the streets, where everyone joins in.
